Yup add Chaeto anytime. Next week will be a month from your original post and I'd expect to see Nitrites at zero by now. Your Nitrates need to come down a little more as well. How much live rock do you have in the system?

45lbs should be fine as long as it's not super dense, share a pic please. I'd do a 20% water change then check your levels the next day. Add some life just a few clean up critters as mentioned.

That must have been some expensive rock if you ordered it online! I looked at ordering a bunch when it was on sale a while back and the shipping was outrageous.

Looks good.
What is the plan for the tank? Corals? Fish only?

+1 and the worst part about paying that much is 90% of the life on the "live" rock dies off anyways. I don't see any coraline algae or anything. I'm sure some if the bacteria made it and that helps but you coulda just used a piece of seed rock for that. Tank cycle probably would of been just as fast if you used 2$ a lbs dry rock
It does look good though!

If it was me I'd try to get those rocks to be a little more spaced out so water can flow through it easily and you don't get a bunch of diatom traps and dead spots. Plus it'll probably give you more real estate on your rock work for frags!

Plus it'll probably give you more real estate on your rock work for frags! Yup, that's why I asked what the plan for the tank is. Fish only this setup will probably be alright but there is little to no flow....you need a powerhead to create some water movement (or two). You also need to think about adding a skimmer. You can get away without one but you really need to be diligent with your water changes.

Commenting on live rock purchases online depending on where you buy in and how it is shipped makes the difference on what lives and dies. My first batch of live rock came from a diver in Southern FLA and was shipped in wet paper towels and yes a lot of plant life, sponges, and bivalves died off and stunk. The second batch was from Tampa Bay live rock and this rock was gorgeous it was shipped submerged in water and had little to no die off and the life on it was incredible. I still have sponge from a few of the rocks I Re-obtained from people I gave it to when I broke down my last tank. The last batch of rock I bought was from an on line vendor and shipped covered in wet paper towels and again right as I opened the boxes you could tell stuff was fouling and not really covered with much of anything. I ended up not using it and selling it as a lot. Going through online stores like live aquaria and such you are going to pay through the nose for shipping. I buy direct and have the rock shipped airline freight, the rock gets here within a 7 hours of leaving FLA and lands in either Boston or Portland depending where I want to pick it up. The shipping weight is based on 100 lbs and anything between 0 and 100 lbs runs $70 to $100.00 depending on airline, airport, and season.

The plan is for corals and fish. I got the live rock shipped direct to my door overnight for 150 including shipping. There are a couple pieces that have some good color on them, I don't know if that means it's good or not especially being new and not knowing exactly what I'm looking at. The live rock came wrapped in wet towels and didn't smell overly strong. They are dull in the pictures because they have a light fuzz on them that blows right off if I aim the small Aquaclear 20 powerhead at them. I also have an aquaclear 70 that I was going to use on a used skimmer that someone gave me, but haven't gotten that to work right yet. Maybe I'll just use the powerhead in the tank for flow instead. I would say that I must have had a fair amount of die off because the ammonia levels spiked extremely high when I first started cycling. .
