I'd really appreciate some information and advice on ato systems? Kinda on a smaller budget for ato because I have some other things I need to get but I'd like to know what works best? Witch float valve is recommended and all that fun stuff?

so there's 2 wires in side of half the power cord? splice it and connect one wire to each from the float switch?

the power wire is 2 wires you have to separate them so you only cut one side so the float switch can turn it on and off

yes one of the float switch wires goes to one side of the pump wire you cut and the other float switch wire goes to the other side of the pump wire you cut here is a good link. www.melevsreef.com/plumbing/auto_topoff.html
