Well I'm glad someone mentioned the relay. I slapped the ato together with the float switch inline with the pump, not even thinking about that load slapping on and off. I don't think the pump runs long enough to heat up he wires, but if I can just as easily add the relay I should. So ordered one off amazon, took an old power supply I had laying around and now it should last a lot longer.
