Long time no update. Sooo I lost the Malu because a extended power outage from that big windstorm. Well now I have an automatic generator setup so I shouldn't have to worry about that in the future. So I picked up another one from Easy today. Here's a lousy picture. I've got some sort of film algae on the sides that the acrylic safe scraper isn't doing much on, so I need to work on that.

update, the Malu is still alive. It's still not firmly attaching so I can't turn the gyre back on as that creates enough current to pull it up and roll it to the back of the rockwork.

It's still kicking and the GBR clown is in love.

So I lost the new Malu anemone. It was doing fine, but like the one before wouldn't/couldn't seem to attach firmly to anything. The GBR clownfish is a digger and undermined the anemone foot constantly. Then the flow in the tank would roll it over. Rereading some threads indicated that maybe I should just leave it alone(as opposed to flipping upright) so that it would find a location it liked better. Never happened. It just didn't seem to try and right itself when flipped. I let it be for one day before I gave up and flipped it back upright, but it was too late. It started melting the next day I think I'm done trying to get a Malu established for now. A BTA would be the logical replacement hardiness wise, but they attach to the rockwork which reduces my space for coral as well as puts more coral at risk. The other option would be an LTA which is also a sandbed anemone, but a little easier than a Malu from what I understand.

Tank is still plugging along. Fern Caleurpa has completely died off. Not sure what I did to get rid of it, but I'm not going to complain. Bubble algae is currently a nagging problem that I haven't figured out how to eliminate. Tank is for the most part doing well but something feels off. Tests have all been within acceptable ranges but I decided to try out the ATI ICP test and see if something shows up as out of line. FTS on cleaning day;

Got the ATI ICP test back. I haven't had time to digest it but the RODI test was interesting. My TDS meter gives me a 1 out of the RO and a 0 out of the DI section. It's a BRS 6 stage.
ICP items of note; copper 1.77ug/l zinc 11.33ug/l nitrate 0mg/l phosphorus 1.17ug/l phosphate 0mg/l
Time to replace so cartridges even though the TDS meter is still reading zero I guess?
