Greetings Maine Aquaria,
Last May many of you will remember we had a frag draft that was a lot of fun. For those that are interested, Cultivated Reef is planning on hosting another frag draft/swap in the month of Oct. Please select your preferred dates from the poll. The poll will lock Sept 15th 12pm and the date with the most votes will be used.
Address is…24 Sunset Drive
Orono, ME
04473
In addition to the typical swapping, selling, and buying from fellow members etc we are going to offer a "frag draft". This is how it will work for those who wish to participate…
There will be a dedicated coral rack in one of our tanks. This rack will hold coral that has a retail value of $20 all the way up to $75 and will consist of zoos, softies, lps and sps. The average coral frag value will be around $30. Each participant will need to purchase either a $50 or a $75 "ticket". The $50 ticket will give you 3 picks from the coral rack. The $75 ticket will give you 5 picks. Each participant will draw a number from a basket one time to see in which order people get to choose. That order will be repeated until all the rounds are exhausted. You can buy multiple tickets if you wish.
Tickets can be purchased by sending a paypal payment to sales@cultivatedreef.com. In the payment notes please let me know the payment is for the frag draft ticket(s). Ticket purchases will be available until the day before the frag draft. But if you plan to participate it will be helpful to place your order sooner. If you do not have a paypal account please email me at sales@cultivatedreef.com to make other payment arrangements.
This is a great opportunity to get a high quality coral bundle for a killer price. $50 should get you on average about $90 worth of coral and a $75 ticket should get you on average about $150 worth of coral.
Maine Aquaria has spoken and October 18th 1pm-3:30pm is it! The poll is now locked.
We will have 2 racks of frags. Once the first rack is mostly picked over (after everyone gets 3 rounds) the second rack will become available to those who purchased more picks. That way people who buy a $75 5 round ticket won't get stuck with left overs. Also anyone who buy multiple tickets, let's say 2 $50 tickets or 2 $75 tickets will get to choose twice each time it's their turn to pick. This way everyone has equal opportunities based on the tickets they buy. But regardless I will be sure there is plenty of extras so their will be plenty of choices
Looking forward to it!
Cultivated Reef
