Well it's been a long while since I've updated this thread. Just got out of an almost one month stay in the hospital and before that, life had me so busy that my tank took an extended stay on the back burner. Either way I've had non stop Nutrient control and water flow issues with this tank between the stock pump and skimmer issues and the replacements I've had to work with. Finally tonight I ordered my new ecotech vectra L1 DC pump with adapter fittings along with my new classic reef coctopus 152s cone skimmer. Really hoping I can get this tank straightened out now. If not I'm gonna sell it and try to move into a slightly larger 91 gallon Red Sea reefer 350 rimless tank.

Finally with some help from my wife I was able to get my new classic reef octopus 152-s cone skimmer and ecotech vectra M1 pump installed in my sump. Attachments:

So far so good on both. The vectra is awesome. Can be completely programmed as a wave maker as well. Nice and quiet so far. The skimmer is a beast compared to the tiny SCA301 skimmer that I had in there. Honestly hated that SCA skimmer from day one but it got me by until I could save enough for the octopus skimmer. Best part of the 152-s octopus skimmer is it's completely modular so every single part comes apart for cleaning. Even the bubble diffuser and bottom plate on the skimmer body can be taken apart to be cleaned.

So after yesterday I ended up with at lest 111 new coral frags, mostly high end zoas. The don't think I could fit any more coral in ere if I tried. Really need to work on my frag tank next so I have space to grow all these frags out into colonies again. Unfortunately my tank is a bit of a mess still. Attachments:

Well it's official, a frag tank for down in the basement is in the works. Got a 40 breeder off of spotfin, im going to use one of my spare gen 2 xr30 radion leds for lighting and I just picked up an ecotech radion tank mount bracket from easy aquariums for $40 worth of store credit today. Still need to figure out a sump, a skimmer and a main pump but it's all coming together at least. I know with well over 100 frags in my display I definitely need the frag tank space,

So the frag tank build is fully underway finally. Got a 40 breeder tank up top and a 100 gallon stock tank for a sump that I picked up today. So far I've got some of the return plumbing figured out, the overflow hanging on the side of the tank and the ecotech gen 2 radion pro and power supply all mounted and in place. Just need to finish the plumbing, run a line from the rodi to the float valve for the sump and get the pump going. I plan on at some point upgrading to an ecotech vectra L1 DC pump to power a manifold system for the return lines and for a sump circulation line to keep detritus suspended so that a filter sock and skimmer can remove it all. Definitely getting anxious to have this build all put together and running. I've got an excessive amount of liverock in one of my clients sumps that I'll be borrowing as well to help avoid a full cycle on this system as well.

Little update, I picked up a used reef octopus 110 protein skimmer from easy aquariums for $85 worth of store credit last time I was there. Yesterday I finally got all the plumbing done, a power source ran to the area and the tank and sump full. Last night I finally added all the salt, got the skimmer plugged in and got the light programmed. Tonight I added about 20-30lbs of liverock from the sump under my display tank to seed the dry rock that's in the frag tank sump and hopefully speed up the cycle. It won't be long and I'll be able to start transferring frags into the frag tank! Attachments:

Added about another 40-50lbs of liverock today borrowed from a clients sump to help with the seeding process. Realistically if all goes as planned this should work out just like my last frag tank that didn't have an actual cycle either. So far I've got a decent amount of copepods, mini brittle stars and fan worms being seen in the frag tank and the frag tank sump so that's a good sign so far.

Just added the first coral and 7 snails to the frag tank. Got some phosphates leaching out of the dry rock I put in there but nothing too bad. Just enough for a small diatom/film algae bloom. Got tons of fan worms covering the liverock in there though
