Oh I do love acroporas but I get board of the lack of movement. Some day I'll have another small Sps reef but with life as busy as it is, softies are the way to go for me.
I have a colony that I bet would do great in your tank and wouldn't mind the occasional neglect lol I'm dying to make some room.
Haha I bet, I wouldn't have room even if I was interested. I prefer to keep Sps separate from anything else anyway and prefer my softy reef to stay all soft. Call it picky but I've never been a big fan of mixed reefs.

I wasn't planning on this upgrade yet but after realizing that the stock cadlights main pump was barely pushing enough water to my display tank to cause a trickle to come out of the overflow, I had no choice but to upgrade my main pump or face selling off or loosing everything. So long story short I called easy and ordered an ecotech M1 vectra pump which will push 2000gph and should be more than sufficient to power my tank. Hopefully I'll have it sometime next week, now I just need to figure out a way to pay for it.

So here's a quick video of the trickle that's managing to come out of my overflow. The 550gph pump just doesn't have enough guts to push water like the tank needs. Again I haven't found any obstructions either so all I'm left to assume is its lack of pump power.

Was it like that from the beginning? That just seems more like a defective pump than a lack of power in my mind. Stock stand height and stock pump should work better than that. Even if it ended up not being enough flow for what you want it should way better than what the video shows.

Yea it's been pretty low from the start. Unfortunately getting anything from cadlights seems to take forever. I still waiting on a Venturi piece for my skimmer that was missing from the start.

So I've been waiting for around 5 months for a new door to replace the slightly warped one that came on the stand along with the missing Venturi parts for my protein skimmer. I'm pretty irritated at this point. Seems like I keep getting the same answers from easy and my wife even contacted cadlights directly twice now and we seem to be getting the run around. I can live with the door the way it is but I finally said to hell with it and boxed up the cadlights skimmer. It's been missing parts since day one. I sort of had it working with a Venturi form a broken skimmer that I had shoved on the pump but it kept falling off. I'm going to try and return he skimmer to easy and get some of my money back the next time I stop in. You'd think for a $1600 high end reef aquarium setup that the company would have decent customer support. Pisses me off.

I agree and I've seen others say their customer service is non existing. Since you bought it through Easy you'd think they'd be putting in the work to be sure you get everything fixed.
75 gallon Sps dominant Reef, Vertex Omega 150 Protein skimmer, eshops overflow, 40 breeder diy sump, Jebao DC9000 return pump, Maxspect gyre xf-150, Jeabo wp-40 and 2 Radion gen3 pro's (Ran at 65%)

Well I finally got my skimmer Venturi direct from cadlights. I have to say they are a very unprofessional company as far as customer service goes. Got my skimmer working the right way. I'm a little irritated, my pump that I had called easy to order never got ordered. I called a few times and when I finally talked to Jason he told me that someone was supposed to call me and let me know that I needed to pay half the cost upfront to get the order started which is fine but I needed a pump as soon as possible. At least jasonbowdoin has been able to lend me his spare pump for the time being. At this point I'm thinking I'm just going to buy all the nessesary pvc parts to plumb in one of my big water blaster pumps.

So I've been realizing lately that I completely hate doing reef tank maintenance when I'm not being paid to do it lol. Been way to long since my last water change. Today I'm getting a little work done on the tank and decided once and for all that I really don't like the black background on the tank. Kind of a pain in the ass but I'm peeling it all off and going back to a clear tank back.

Funny I've never liked a clear back on a tank. Once I started painting them black I never regretted it.
