I thought it was funny that the book was almost as much as the Adruino. I'll keep you posted on the progress.

Basically just a computer chip with inputs and outputs that is programmable thru a version of C programming language...it's a user friendly computer chip. It was developed to allow the average person the ability to utilize computer technology for everyday issues/tasks.
I have some experience in programming but it's very very limited. The electronic hardware piece is completely foreign to me tho...hence the book. It is extremely versatile in our aquarium world. It's can control ANY aspect of the aquarium and is compatible with all types of sensors. So once you figure this stuff out you can build it up over time to do everything the $1000 controllers do. Ohh and did I mention that the motherboard only costs $25.00. An 8 channel relay was only $10.00 and it will allow me to control 8 different, well, anything...timers, pumps, heaters, lights, ext. There are a few other small costs but you get the idea.

if you can find splitters for 1/4" lock line, I have about 7' of black and 8' of blue. the only adapter I have is to bring the lockline from 1/2" to 1/4"
it would work good on a small tank to direct flow anywhere you need or drill holes in it and use it as a spray bar

I went with 1/2". I think I'm going to drill two holes for the returns and split them if necessary. What do you think on placement. The overflow box is in the top right. Would you go with one in the top left and one undr the overflow or top left and middle? or top left and middle left?

just be careful with it threw the glass 10g tanks are thin so a little bit of pressure wile bending the lockline can crack the tank easily it came from biw a few years back shhh they use it for air lines I found a place to get the adapter from 1/2"-1/4" but every T I find is solid so it would have to drilled

Didn't even think of that...see that's why I love forums, someone has already made that mistake. I'll probably go over the top with it then.

Bought a stand today. I wasn't planning on needing one when I started the build but the one I had wasn't tall enough for the skimmer and a light. Too big for the tank so I had to add the top. Drilled a few holes so I could put it right up against the wall. The wife wasn't too happy with me drilling holes in the kitchen..haha. Now just need to paint and I can move on.

Thanks... Ok, last one for the night. Needs one more coat but you get the idea. I also just finished cutting the glass for the baffles in the sump. For any of you that have been hesitating cutting your own glass...don't, it's very easy. It's the first time I've ever done it and my cuts were way better than Lowes.
