I always wondered why she had not looked into becoming part of our life cal community forum like cultivated reef, easy aquariums and frag freaks are. She'd certainly be welcome to join and post updates, sales and whatnot. I believe it only help her business more.

I think it's mostly because she views the forum as "competition" instead of a resource for her business. Then again that's just a guess and I really don't know for sure.

I believe its mostly that if your not doing it her way your doing it all wrong. after 5 minutes talking þo her youll understand.

She is the one who told me to throw out my bran new 65 Gallon tank and start over because it was not big enough or done her way. After visiting her twice I vowed I'd not return. She even told me my 5 stage to/di unit was junk because it didn't have her brand of resin. I just can't handle that type of personality and the stress from going there.

That's her way of marketing lol. It really is unfortunate because she could do so much more if she opened up to the other possibilities and needs/wants of people in the hobby. |

i'm not a fan of her. I dealt with her years ago bought 4 VHO bulbs off her and since she is a long drive once I got them home and 2 of them didn't work out of the package I called her right away. she said she would go good for the bulbs and I told her it would be like 2 weeks before I could drive back down. once I got there (two weeks later) after driving that distance she said she couldn't remember saying she would warantee the brand new bulbs or remember the conversation or even selling me the bulbs and since the correspondence wasnt by email she wouldnt replace the bulbs because I was trying to get free bulbs. last time I ever went or will ever go to her shop.

it is what it is. there are plenty of other ways to get corals and supplies so it's no skin off my nose to never go back. I just prefer supporting local businesses.

How do people feel about the fact she insists on selling her corals on rock instead of plugs? I get her reasoning for doing so, but no matter how hard you try it's impossible to get all those friggin hitchhikers her tanks are whittled with out of the rock. I'd done a pretty good job keeping my tank "pure" with only things I wanted until buying a coral from her.

I like rock pieces over plugs but that's neither here nor there. quarantine everything. you can always move a coral off a rock chunk onto a clean plug if you want to avoid hidden secrets in the rubble piece. you can get almost as many hidden surprises off a plug as a chunk of rock. including nuiscance algaes etc.
