I like rock pieces over plugs but that's neither here nor there. quarantine everything. you can always move a coral off a rock chunk onto a clean plug if you want to avoid hidden secrets in the rubble piece. you can get almost as many hidden surprises off a plug as a chunk of rock. including nuiscance algaes etc. Not set up for quarantine, but yes, I know I know. My current method has worked quite well until aquacorals purchase. I usually immediately remove corals from frags and place on my own rock before placing in my tank anyways. That's why I like the plugs, easier to get the corals off. I even removed what I could from her rocks, but with some softies, I just loose too much. I dip her rock and kill a lot, but can't get everything everywhere since rocks are not uniform and variable coral attachment, annoying to me. |
