I've been thinking a nano planted tank devoted to glass catfish would be neat too.

Since I was a little kid I've always wanted a planted tank with a group of wild green discus like these with a school of neons. Attachments:

I love African Peacock Cichlids. I know they seem very common but there's tons of hybrids and color morphs and imo the have the greatest personality. Also love Elephant ear Bettas Plecos Blood red pigeon discus (I think that's what they're called? Been awhile)

My favorites by far are freshwater stingrays:) And, in no particular order:
Geophagus cichlids, serverums, pimelodia cats, neons, wild type angelfish, and more. Fermented, I have a banded leporinus in with my rays.

Fermented, I have a banded leporinus in with my rays. Nice. They've been a long time favorite of mine, just never had a big enough setup to keep them long term. One reason why I picked up an Abramites for my current setup. Related but more modest sized, if a little more of a bad attitude. My problem is every time I pick up an issue of TFH I have a new fish to add to my wishlist. I like barbs, rainbowfish loaches, and cichlids pretty much across the board and then just anything that I find interesting. For instance I've been doing some research on brackish damsels for something different.

German Blue Ram Cichlids and Neolamprologus multifasciatus (really cool small cichlid that lives in snail shells in a colony. Fun personalities.
