The whole system will eventually be ecotech with the exception of the skimmer and heater. Until ecotech comes out with a cone or hybrid cone body skimmer with quiet drive controllable dc pump, I'll stick with reef octopus.

I just got 2 MP40'S in the mail yesterday so my systems getting close to all Ecotech. Not sure I'll get the Vectra though until I see it first hand. Looks a lot like all the other dc pumps imo.

I'm one light bracket and one electrical outlet away from setting this tank up. Can't wait.

Aside from it being species limited this is by far my favorite setup so far.

Tank looks great! I was gonna go smaller as well but the tank got sold before I could snatch it up. Is that chair there to stop the door from hitting your tank?

Nope, I have a door stop for that. Chair was there to stand on while fitting the stand pipes to check for clearance around the RMS bracket.

Tank is filled and running finally. Fish are all in, got two of my three rocks put in, now I just need to add my sand and the rest of my corals and inverts. Clear water for now but getting ready for a tank full of reef soup once the sand goes in. Attachments:

Yummy reef soup! First layer of sand is all it. Had to make a different intake fit for the skimmer pump because the correct piece was missing. Point is I made it work until my new parts arrive. Got a filter sock in the sump too to help clear up the water. Water change coming tonight as well. Attachments:

So the things I don't like about this system as a kit are the main pump is pretty cheap and the skimmer could be easier to adjust. Other than that the system is almost dead silent and pretty sweet. The tank and stand are of superb quality which they should be for the price. Honestly I love the high gloss white stand. It's very sleek looking. I can't wait till it's all finished and I've got my aquascape all sorted out.
