I gotta say I was a little skeptical about adding a Ats to my system. I have really low nutrients with my N03 between 0-3ppm and my P04 at 0.02 but it's only been up for 4 days today and I'm already seeing good growth. Day 4..... Sent from my SM-N910R4 using proboards Day 5...... Looks like it's at least doubled? It's growing most in the center and that has me thinking I need 2 of these same lights instead of a bigger single bulb? Better coverage and these bulbs are cheaper! Lol thoughts?? Sent from my SM-N910R4 using proboards Day 6... Looks like it's spread as much as it's going to until I get the 2 bulbs I just ordered. Wife says I can keep this one so it looks like I may end up running 3. It's definitely gotten longer then yesterday imo. Day 7.... Sent from my SM-N910R4 using proboards

Idk what you mean? What kind of algae is growing on the Ats? Right now is some kind of red stringy algae? Idk but I'm hoping it'll turn into Hair algea soon. That's what I think most people try to harvest? Sent from my SM-N910R4 using proboards

Your going to want the thick green turf algae. From the reading I had done back when I was considering setting one up, everything I ready was saying turf algae is what you want. Not hair algae. Although it all reduces available phosphates in the water so it really doesn't matter what kind of algae it's growing as long as you manually harvest and remove some.

I guess I'm still confused as to how I can pick witch one grows? I'm kinda surprised any is growing at all. I have 0.01 phosphates and undetectable nitrates. But I'm still getting cyano?idk I'm starting to want to give up all together!!!! Sent from my SM-N910R4 using proboards

IMO just let it do its thing it will turn in time. Mine looked like yours for week or two but after getting the flow right and a little time it now grows turf algae. And even running gfo my phosphate will bounce the day I scrape it

So far all I can really grow is cyano! Lol I guess it kinda makes sence because that's what I have the most trouble with in my tank. Weird because I have a very low nutrient system but taking Gfo offline and letting my phosphates rise a little is helping and I'm sure will help the scrubber get better growth

Mine started switching to hair alge awhile ago right before IT was time to change my gfo then turned back but if your DT is clearing up then I would say its working

Been seriously slacking on updating this thread but wow have I been getting great growth on this Ats... I've even had to take my gfo offline for the time being! Never thought I'd run my tank without it. This is what i'm getting weekly now. Pretty awesome I think... Sent from my SM-N910R4 using proboards
