Been a few years but I've always used ORP as a level of consistency...meaning, if I see a change in the average something is off. I've never tried to manage ORP or hit a certain number. I just want to see a consistent average. If I see a dip or spike, I test everything.

Go visit cultivated reef he's got ozone generators Ok I'll talk to Greg about it today. I'm going back and forth between an Ozoner and an Algae turf scrubber. Maybe I'll diy the scrubber and buy an Ozoner? But the Ozone might make it hard to maintain a scrubber? Sent from my SM-N910R4 using proboards

So I used a piece of acrylic bent into a u shape as the base like a slouch that is rested on one of my inlet baffles and the other on some rock to allow the water to run across it. Laying in the bottom is a piece of that plastic mesh crochet stuff for the algae to grow on. Above screwed to the under side of my stand is a duel outside spotlight holder that I got from Home Depot and wired the end of an old cord onto it to plug it into a timer. I run the light in conjunction with my fuge light for 12hrs on then off and scrap once a week. I had planned on setting it between baffles and using an outlet of my manifold but it works this way with no pluming so good enough.
Previously I had taken and placed a 90 on the down spout from my overflow and had a 10" long piece of pipe coming off of it with a slot cut in the bottom of it the length of the pipe that the scrubber hang from. This was not only loud but created more evaporation and un-even water flow across the mesh

If given the opportunity would people add a UV sterilizer or an ozone generator to they're tank? I know they're different just wondering what people think is the most beneficial?

I had everything but the leds so it was worth the $20. The lights are very well built and put out great color if your kit did not come with them

Im running the two 5w led's with a 24" 6500k T8 as back lighting with great growth Its all about the color from what I had read before setting up mine. Though ample wattage is required if your not running this as your main filter like some I would think you would have more then enough
