Did a check with the TDS meter to see how well the RO unit is working. TDS at the tap is 106. Exiting the RO unit(before the DI stage) TDS=1. Not too bad. Looks like I could've gotten away without buying the DI section. I do need to get the storage tank plumbed though as the 2 gallon pressure tank only holds about 1 gallon and after that it's just a slow stream from the RO unit.

RODI reservoir filling. Should be down in a couple of hours. Now to figure out how to plumb it and pump it up to the tanks.

Long time no post. Tank pretty much crashed last month . Lost a ton of frags and hair algae went out of control. WC don't seem to be helping either. Planning on scrapping the HOB setup and building a sump. Planning on using a 29 gallon I have laying around from petco as a sump for both of my 29 reef tanks. That way they'll be able to share heaters and ATO but will have separate overflows and separate return pumps. Now I just have to decide on a return pump. Was looking at a Sicce syncra 1.0 paired with a Eshopps AEO10100.

This tank is returning from the dead after what was essentially a complete crash Lost every coral that I didn't remove in time except GSP. which has since made a recovery from only a couple of remaining polyps now back to almost full size again. It's now tied into the sump along with my other 29. This adds quite a bit of volume for added stability but also increases the risk as another crash could take them both down. Livestock was pretty minimal. No fish at this point. inverts; blood red cleaner shrimp, zebra hermit, 2 scarlet hermits, handful of snails. Just added a harlequin serpent star from CR. Beautiful but I probably won't see it much Also scored a tiny anemone shrimp(possibly a pederson's but I'm not sure) for CR. 1 porcelain anemone crab. Existing corals were the survivor GSP on the back glass, purple stylo from easy, survivor(so far)devils armor zoos. Jedi mind trick monti from Vivid. ORA red Gonipora originally from CR that I was able to save during the crash. So I made an appointment to drop in on Greg at CR yesterday. Always a great time and too many frags to choose from. I splurged and got this tank started again on the way to restocking. A green and a Rainbow Florida Ric, Ultra red Yuma, small orangish rock flower anemone, utter chaos paly, blue spot calgreni, and a small green St Thomas. I can't wait to see them fill in. Although they are all slow growers so I going to get a lesson in patience Future additions when the checkbook recovers will be more color varieties of each(rics, rock flowers, calgreni, and St Thomas), Also I left a couple high spots open for focal point pieces. Hopefully a couple colorful acros. I have no idea what to put in this for fish if any at this point. I could go single show fish like a fu manchu lionfish and remove the shrimp and porcelain crab, but they are notoriously hard to wean off of live food. Or I could skip fish altogether and make it completely coral focused and just add nano inverts that wouldn't make it in the clown tank.............

I've been mulling over how to proceed with this tank stocking wise. My coral plan is pretty well layed out I think. Hair algae hasn't gone away but there is a little less of it each week.?
I'm thinking of pulling the yucatan cleaner shrimp out and putting it in the other tank. Considering a Japanese redfin waspfish and a yellow assessor as the focus fish. Wasn't sure if a smaller blenny and/or a possum wrasse would be compatible with the waspfish though

Might get eaten by the waspfish.

The yellow assessor? Unlikely. Waspfish in general and redfins in particular have small mouths.

So mulling over stocking this with a yellow assessor, a japanese redfin waspfish and a fishers or cherub angel.

If you ever frag any of those Florida ricordeas let me know. Definitely will. Hopefully I can get them to start splitting on their own.

My ORA red gonipora that has survived all of my mistakes including the tank crash. One of my favorites.

Sweet, those red ORA goniapora seem to be really hardy. I've got one in Laura's 220 that has tripled in size, it's almost the size of a golf ball now.

I had trouble getting a good pick of the shrimp I believe is a yucatan cleaner.
