in the process I found a vermetid snail. From what I've read their webs annoy corals so I'm going to have to get rid of it.

Did a little maintenance today. Eliminated the vermetid snail(although I think there are certainly more in there somewhere). Relocated the chalice as the frag had fallen off, so I picked a new location while I was at it. Relocated the goniopora to a higher light area to test if it would enjoy that a little more. Also relocated the GSP to a magnetic frag plug on the back wall of the tank(we'll see how that goes). The new inverts are mostly hiders I see the pom pom crabs either early in the morning or late at night while the lights are barely on. The pistol shrimp is never seen, but I see the evidence of it's presence in the disturbances in the sand bed.

Picked up a purple firefish at the Topsham Petco Wednesday. About 1 minute after I put it in the tank it disappeared under the rock work with the pistol shrimp and stayed there for two days. Finally showed it's face last night, but I haven't been able to take a picture because it hides every time I get the camera out it heads for cover Next I'll be looking for a Randall's goby and some sort of smaller blenny. I was leaning towards one of these if I can find one; www.bluezooaquatics.com/productDetail.asp?did=1&pid=368&cid=12

ended up getting a tailspot blenny via LA along with a yellow filter feeding cuke, and an anemone porcelain crab. All acclimated well. The cuke moved about an inch from where I placed it in high flow and extended its feeding "tentacles" within minutes. The crab has fallen in love with the rock flower, which he's a bit too big for and has ignored the maxi mini and left that too the sexy shrimp. The blenny is a bit of a downer at the moment. It has opted for a cave in the rear of the rock work and is just a shadow that I can see darting out to grab some food. Hopefully it'll settle in some more and feel more comfortable being out and about.

3 pompom crabs and I only saw 1 pompom out of all of them? Lol Yeah, it's kind of sad isn't it Originally the bigger male had one as well but seems like he lost it in his last molt. Too bad there wasn't a way to get more of those little nems

Although I've heard they'll grab micro zoas to use if they can't find a nem so maybe they use aipstasia if they found one
