I have a rock in my tank that is being taken over by Orange Zoas, and I need to stop their advance. Is there a way to get them off the rock safely? Or is there something I can put on the rock to stop the advance, and maybe kill off a few?
Of course it's a bottom rock in my formation, so removing it really isn't an option. I've thought about removing it and finding a replacement, then I could sell/trade the rock.

Think you could get in there with a chisel and just scape a thin layer of rock from underneath some of them? Live rock normally breaks relatively easy so that's what I normally do. Frag them up instead of covering them and killing them. Not really great for you tank to kill them inside it, there gonna release some nasties. But you could cover with super glue or epoxy. Anyway to do what you said and switcheroo?

Cut the piece of rock with a dremel glue to frag plugs and list them in the livestock board!

The rock must have over 100 heads on it, and expanding to a second rock. I'm going to have to see about getting it out, and I'll find a replacement rock to fill it's spot.
It looks great, but it's going to take over everything if I don't stop it now.

Good size piece of rock, and it's spreading to the one on top of it.

Chip and chisel them off with bits of rock using bone cutters.

I use heavy duty toe nail cutters (almost the same as bone cutters) or tile saw...
I had the same problem with my lunar eclipse palys, they took over.
with tile saw after you cut rock hit it with a propane torch the rock will "fix" iself so no more flat spot

The fancy name, I have no idea.
I believe I got them from gotareef about 3 years ago, started out as a small frag and recently have gone crazy.

lunar eclipse I used to have about 1/2 my tank covered in them. the only way I was able to get rid of them is when my 800w heater shorted and electrocuted them

Aiptasia X. Target kills them. I use it to control my Jasmine polyp as well.

I'm going to look for a new rock about the same size, and swap it out. Once I have it out of the tank, I can get to work fragging them up.

I just use a big a** razor and shave them off with a bit of the rock. Run carbon to clean up any nasties they may release
Sent from my HTC6525LVW using proboards

I'm hitting a few stores this weekend, I'll be rock shopping.........1 nicely shaped rock, that will fit my formation so I don't have to tear everything apart(hopefully).
