I think if it can happen it will happen, so I expect the worse and hope for the best with everything. So after some reading I found this www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2037674It explains how some tanks can use foam and some tanks shouldn't. Some tank manufacturers void warranty if you use foam and some suggest it? So it's a little confusing and all depends on if your tank has a floating bottom or not? Either way do your research your self and red the manufacturers warranty to help you decide what you want to do

the foam dosnt sit on the glass it just spreads the weight evenly around the rim of the tank. so even if the stand is twisted it dosnt break the tank

So Petco asked if I wanted a new tank, or a tube of sealant...
Anyway, they are out of 40b's, should have some in this week (hopefully tomorrow), but they will swap it out.

Maybe you should tell them you want to exchange the tank and get a couple tubes of sealant(silicone)! In case of emergencies! Lol how ridiculous

My post may of gotten lost, but I didn't see an answer to my question... What kind of rigid foam should I use? The pink foam, the foil-lined yellow, or the blue/green??? According to the Home Depot App, the blue/green is the only 1/2" in stock.

I think the differant colors are either related to maker or r rating, get something thats hard to compress with fingers.

According to the Home Depot App, the blue/green is the only 1/2" in stock. under my 180g I used pinkish-purple color I think it is 1/2" or 5/8", under my 40g rimless I have 1/4" but any RIGID foam will work.
