LOL...........10 replies, no help Yes, they are for a 30 breeder. I drilled it last night, ordered the baffles today hoping to start installing them tonight. I'm thinking they can just grind them down the 1/8" I need removed, they should have a diamond grinding wheel.....same one they use to take the sharp edges off. Hoping to do the sump install next weekend, want to give the silicone a full week to cure. Do you have a dremel? The edges don't have to be perfect... the silicone will fill in the gaps. Grind it down yourself. Just make sure to wear eye protection and a basic dust mask.

I tried using my air grinder with a small stone wheel on it.........it was working, but slow as heck, and started to chip.
I'll just swing in to PG tomorrow and have them do it.

I've used an actual hole saw and drill to grind down the edges

Dropped the glass off at PG this morning, told them to remove 1/8" and round the corners. My wife picked them up when it was ready, I got home and they rounded the corners and didn't remove the 1/8".
Not impressed with PG right now.....but at least they didn't charge anything today.
So now I have to figure out a way to remove the 1/8" that I need gone...........and it doesn't look like Home Depot has anything to do it. I used a sanding wheel on my air grinder to get 2 of them down enough to fit since they were slightly under 17.5". But the other 2 are a solid 17.5 and still need more work.

Got it done tonight, etched the glass, and used pliers to break off the glass slowly. Not the smoothest job, doesn't look the best, but the silicone covers it all up.

I would have brought them the sump and asked them to cut the baffles to fit.

magnets do a nice job holding them in th correct place That would be good for holding the baffles while the silicon dries, but I wouldn't keep exposed magnets submerged in saltwater.

If you have some time to kill, a belt sander with some 100 grit will knock it down a lot. It will be a messy edge, but hey, more surface area for the bond. Let us know if they are able to shorten them by 1/8. And the cost if there is one. I imagine even with the right tool it will be quite labor intensive
