like ryan said 4" seems a bit wide I would go 2" with a piece of screen over the overflow this way the box dosnt block so much light I remember a friend (rich if anyone remembers, how could you forget) he put a ctc on a 300g? 8' tank it blocked allot of light so he ended up modding it so part of it was his frag rack I agree as well. If you are not going to have any PVC in the overflow then 4" Kyle too much. Not sure what I would do since you already had it built. I thought I needed to have a 90 degree attached to each of the drain bulkheads, Can I just leave them with nothing?

At Easy Aquariums I have an acrylic blade on the table saw. Ill trim it for you no charge. As for a 4' length of 1/4" glass, i can take off 1/2" np with running pliers. PLEASE come in and get some black RTV 103 silicone adhesive. It will look and work much better than anything else. Funny enough we had a bulkheads flange break clean off on one of the tanks in store. This happened a couple months after install. It was on the other hand a used bulkhead. Removing the overflow box took a lot of time and effort. A reef safe silicone adhesive (not sealant) is what the big manufacturers use to bond their abs overflows to the glass tanks. We have both gun sizes and tubes. Nate I think I've talked with you before about trying to Trim my baffles?? I ended up having portland glass cut new ones for me and they are already installed but I would def appreciate if your could trim that for me

Gravity fed, durso style or bean. Gravity (bulkhead only) will be loud, sucking noises.

Yeah trimming an 1/8" off of 1/4" glass is very different than removing any amount from acrylic lol happy to help. I will only be there fri/sat

I have a durso on my 29g and it works fine... seems fairly quiet right now. My outlet is a little above the water line in the sump because i use a filter sock, my wife likes the water trickle sound, she thinks its soothing. The only think I don't like about my durso set up is that I didn't incorporate an emergency drain.
To answer your question: A durso will take less time to initially set up because it only really requires 1 hole; however, for more time and effort you can have three drains that are silent and almost eliminate the possibility of a flood.

you will need a 90 on the emergency twisted up to bring it above the other two drains. correct?
