I recently set up a 90 gallon reef. My fish are getting stressed and corals not doing all that great. I was asked to check for voltage. Wow new heater 10 volts new water pump 10 volts Used skimmer 10 volts 2 new power heads 10 on one 6 on the other. I use ground probe still have.6 volts I have asked supplier of pump and power heads, if any warranty. But was already told that heater probably messed up all the others! I am not sure what to do, I spent soooo much buying all new and less than 2 months use it malfunctions. What would you do? I need help I can't replace everything! looking for any help I can get

What supplier did you ask? Your pump and power heads all have warranties. Try contacting the product manufacturers to find out the best way to handle it if you end up needing to return any products. If I were you I'd try using a different power strip or even a different power outlet all together and re test each piece of equipment separately to rule out the power source. For best results, try testing one pump at a time in a bucket of water separated from your tank to see which is truly the problem. If need be, I can help with getting you the contact info to all the different product manufacturers. Let me know how things work out.

Two theories on this: a) Under certain circumstances, your grounding probe can actually be putting voltage in the tank b) You have voltage in the tank, but the grounding probe completes the circuit, meaning that you now have current in your tank, which is worse than just voltage. Wanted to say thank you to you both. Got my husband to put in 3 new ground faults on separate breakers. And no power strip and 2 new power heads. Led lights plugged into separate GFI S. PROBLEM SOLVED!
