Ok, so here's the deal. I need to set up a frag tank on the cheap to free up some more space in my tank. It will be a standard 10 gallon plumbed into my existing 75 gallon reef. I'm looking for recommendations for cheap lighting setups. If anyone has anything used that will fit over a ten gallon tank let me know. He's anyone ever used the marineland reef capable setups? www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+3733+10704+24725&pcatid=24725

That wouldn't be too bad but I really want something that has legs that will sit on top of the tank. That wash my initial thought at least but I suppose I could always build something to hang a fixture from.

You can always get the goose neck and attach it to your tank if you don't want to hang it.

Thats a very good point, I hadn't thought about that. It's all gonna depend on price though.

LEDtric full spectrum still on sale for 80. Otherwise one of those cheaper double t5 (Jason sells them, not sure about the brand). But if its for Sps I'd go with the led par bulb.

It will be for zoos, rics and leathers. I'm trying to keep cost as low as possible.

I've used the marineland reef capable. IMO their retail price is a bit high. But they do pack a pretty good punch and are nice and thin. I had my buddies 18" version of it on my 26 bow about a year ago. ORA green birds grew pretty nicely under it for a few months until i replaced it with my own light. If you can get a good deal on one id grab it. buildmyled.com is another option. Their mounting brackets look very very cool. Mount the strip towards the front of the tank and angle it back onto the entire rack for full coverage.
I'm curious to see what you end up using, as I'm in the market for a similar light for my fuge/frag tank

I'll take some tonight and post them to you, it's great little setup, the power cord for the LED moonlights is missing, I was going to use it for a qa tank but I really need money right now. I bought it from someone that had it setup as a reef tank for about two years so it's always been salt. It would do everything you need and then some.
