Got my new SRO 1000int yesterday. Looking forward to getting home and breaking it in. I will keep you all posted and let you know how it goes!

Stick it in a tote with enough hot water to run the pump and add a few cups of white vinegar. Let it run like that for 15-20 minutes and it will clean out almost any manufacturing oil residue left on the skimmer. The break in for skimmers is the time it takes for the oils to dissolve and be collected in the skimmer cup. By cleaning your skimmer this way you can reduce the break in time to nearly nothing. I did it to my SRO 3000 and didn't have any break in. It started pulling good dry skimmate that same night. Good choice of skimmer. I'm looking at getting a SRO 1000 for my wife's 47 column sometime soon. Where did you get it?

I got it from Premium Aquatics. I checked around and the price was pretty much the same everywhere. Got free shipping, was gonna order it from Aquacorals, but it would have cost an extra $40 with shipping and tax. Gotta love the internet with free shipping and no taxes

Wow, That much extra for tax and shipping!! Damn, I always get most of my stuff from Aquacave.com with $4.95 shipping. From what I've been told, Greg at cultivated reef will beat everyone's price, Local and online.
