So I came home from the gym and I noticed my toadstool's head popped off? Ive noticed lately its been slumped over a bit but Ive heard its normal and it happens with toadstool. Anyways, I'm not sure what caused it? I have a cleaner shrimp, a peppermint shrimp, a serpent star, a lawn mower blenny, two saddleback clowns, a firefish, a royal gramma, some chromis and a fairy wrasse so I doubt any of that did it...especially since they've never been an issue. Anyways, any ideas? This is where it came off of......

The zoos might have irritated it?
It could be some type of bacterial infection, the way the fresh is brown like that. It's hard to say without knowing what the water quality is and the history of the tank.
I have also seen predatory crabs eat threw soft corals like that too.

Crabs...I hate crabs! LOL I had an emerald and he took out a BIG colony of dragon eyes...TOTALLY bummed me out. My water is fine, just nitrates between 10-20 but they've always been like that. Maybe I'll try some Coral RX

Happened to mine to. Attach it to a clean rock, and just in case it does have an infection, cut the bottom to just above healthy tissue with a sharp razor.

mine have lost heads before but only because the stalks twist in the current to the point the head twists off, the stalk then sprouts a new head that's actually how that colony started it was new head that was twisted off of it's stalk. Looking at it in your picks I'm really not sure, I've had zoa's growing right over the stalk of mine before so I'm hesitant to say it's the zoa's but my mother colony is much larger than your frag. Good luck with it they are a PITA to get attached to rock low current rubble area usually works best glue after it's healed and attached to rubble. Let me know if it doesn't make it I'll get another one to you. Good luck.

they usually don't like glue on the flesh and wont stay put, if it's visible and not going anywhere I'd leave the head till it attaches to some sand then glue the sand. Good luck.
