+1 cyano, get it out and stay on top of it, it could get out of control and smother everything.

Are you using RODI water in your tank?

I had a nitrate issue and it jumped to 140 so I had to do a quick 30 gal water change and I was fresh out of RO water, normally I do. I don't have an RO unit so I have to get my water else where and that is a pain, I'm still looking for one though.

I always use my RODI Water and I got a small patch of this. It never got any bigger and I thought it was kinda shimmery...LOL but I had no idea it was considered bad!

Tap water can contain all sorts of stuff, including silicates, and it can vary over the course of time. Even small amounts of silicates in tap water will accumulate over time - evaporation leaves them behind. A cyanobacteria bloom can choke coral and the 'live' part of your live rock. If it crashes it can take the tank with it. My advice is get yourself an RO filter first. Buy livestock second.
