Cultivated Reef is Top Notch

I'm here to put in a blatant plug (get it?) for Cultivated Reef and it's owner, Greg. I've been in the reef hobby since nearly the beginning (first reef tank in 1989). I was in the hobby when Julian Sprung had long, flowing, really bad hair. In a previous life I managed 3 pet stores and owned a wholesale marine fish, coral, and invert importer in Minneapolis, MN.

So I've seen a lot.

Greg does as good a job as anyone I've seen. First he cultivates (get it?) great suppliers. When you are in the livestock business I cannot tel you how important this is. From those suppliers, he cherry-picks great specimens. Those specimens arrive to a great new home where Greg treats them with care and respect. This is important - you can trust me that many wholesalers and retailers DO NOT do this. They try to turn the merchandise as fast as possible. To the contrary, Greg will sit on perfectly healthy corals till they color up enough for him. He's meticulous about customers getting what they expect.

So, I encourage you to support him, especially if you're in the central Maine area. If you haven't stopped into his place, you really should.
