This makes number two, of the fishes I have gotten from Jay's that have not eaten and died. It becomes a very expensive hobby when 110 dollars get flushed down the drain. Rick from New England told me his fish will be a little more but they will be eaten pellets before they leave shop. Any thoughts on fish being sold before they eating pellets or frozen food?

Agreed, if I am purchasing a new fish that is a known picky eater I will ask the LFS to feed it.

Sorry to hear you lost another but thats the entire reason I prefer to order fish from liveaquaria. No matter what you always get the 14 day arrive alive and stay alive money back guarantee. No LFS does that. The $34.99 flat rate overnight shipping is minimal when you consider the reduced livestock costs they have also taking into account fuel costs that it takes to drive to LFS's. At least to aquacorals credit, she usually makes sure all the fish are eating for a day or more before selling them. Though buying fish from any store is a total crapshoot without some sort of a guarantee.

I think seeing them eat with my own eyes is going to be a must after losing over 200.00 in fish. Very expensive lesson learned.
