Hoping someone can tell me what these are, and if it/ they are a problem or not. Seems to be taking over my skimmer section of my sump, and also has moved into my return section. I only see it in the sump so far. Thanks.   |

Top picture: If you look at it from the other side, does it look like a woven "nest," with a hole in the middle?

These are everywhere, and they do appear to be woven together. I can't really tell if they have a hole.

my best guess would be some species of sponge

I've had them before. I was told they were sponges. They went away eventually.
