Something seems to be chewing on the tubing of my featherduster. i cant' seem to catch anything in the act. could it be due to my feeding every other day in an effort to get my lazy ass peppermint shrimp to start eating aiptasia? should i go back to feeding everyday?

Stress is biggest reason, if they survive they will eventually make a new one

I wonder if they will jettison ( so to speak) part of their tube. Mine had a lot of tube due to where I placed it, and now he has just a short tube coming out from under the rock. He seems happy now. He's out a lot more now.
