So I noticed my sailfin Tang was acting funny yesterday. She was hiding behind the rocks instead of coming out and swimming in your face like she does every time you stand in front of the tank. I tried feeding them yesterday to see if that would entice her to come out and she did come out but she didn't eat. I was just looking for her a few minutes ago and I couldn't find her... I ended up seeing her tail behind a rock and I pulled her out and she was pretty much gone. She didn't respond to me touching her at all and when I tried to see if she would swim she floated sideways. Her Gills were barely moving so I made the very sad decision to take her out of the tank before she caused the nitrate Spike. She was pretty much the star of the tank... definitely a sad day.

Honestly not sure what happened to her! She didnt look unhealthy and all of my water parameters were fine. Bah, im bummed! Oh well, all a part of the hobby! I guess it'll give me a reason to get a new tang. Any suggestions? I like pretty colored ones that are reef safe and non aggressive.

I feel your pain the same happen to me except it was a 4 year old purple tang. sorry for your loss |

Sorry about Liza I have always been partial to Yellow Eye Kole Tangs. That said though, if I had the opportunity to reTangify my tank, I would have to go with an Achilles. They are a little pricey, but they are amazingly beautiful fish with some great personality. |

It sucked... She had a ton of personality! I definitely went out and bought another one just like her! (hopefully no bad juju) My husband thought I was gonna come back with something else but I just really loved the sailfin. :-)
