What do you use for chemical filtration, and why?

I use chemi pure elite and purigen in my Nano tanks. CPE has gfo, carbon, and other resins that are great for controlling all the other gunk. I use purigen to catch all the organics that the CPE doesn't, since I don't use a skimmer.

Carbon and poly filters for me. If phosphates become a real big issue I like Seachem phosgaurd but that's about it.

I just ordered both ChemiPure Elite and Purigen, I'm gonna try both and see which one I like better.

We use Chemi-Pure Elite and Purigen together in the saltwater tanks, and just activated carbon in the freshwater.

I think is depends on what's happening in the tank and how the system is set-up. I am from the school of thought that you can never have too much safeguards and filtration. I run carbon always. I have used a lot of Purigen in the past and it makes a difference to the water quality. Purigen is expensive but the nice thing about it is that you can reuse it and save yourself some money.

5-10gals water exchange/week, gravel siphon, mechanical filter, bio balls, lots of live rock, protein skimmer and carbon.
