How common is it for an ocelaris added later to pair with the one that already call the tank home? Is it significantly easier to just buy a pair? (from LA's Divers den for example) How about different color morphs? thanks.

We had good luck in the process! We bought our Ocellaris in January of 2011 and then our Premnas biaculeatus in October of 2011 and they were fine. About 2 months after we added the second clown.... they started doing the "happy dance" (mating dance). We've never had an issue, they even pair up to give other fish a hard time.

You should not have to much of a problem. It can depend on the species. If it were me I would add a clown fish smaller than the 1 that is in the tank.
In the wild different species of clown will pair up and mate too, but again it can depend on the species.

We had one O. clownfish die when we upgraded our tank last year. We purchased a small O. clownfish as a replacement and they have paired very well from the very first day with absolutely no aggression issues or chasing. I would just make sure that the replacement is considerably smaller than the one you have now. I don't know what size tank you have, but I have also found that it can be much harder to get them to pair in aquariums less than 30 gallons.

color morphs dont matter the species does most like to stay with their own kind but some do mix occy and perc can mix I have bread them together to get a pair just put a little one with a big one or throw a bunch together and let them pair on their own. the way it works is they are all born "sexless males" the dominant fish will morph into a female I have a great book by Joyce D. Wilkerson if anyone needs to borrow it (but if you break it you buy it) www.amazon.com/Clownfishes-Captive-Breeding-Natural-History/dp/1890087041
