For anyone questioning whether their dream animal is legal here in our state of Maine. I’m including a direct link to the Maine unrestricted species list where you can scroll through the list to find out if your animal is legal to obtain and keep here in Maine. It should be noted that maine doesn’t have any restrictions on (saltwater) marine aquarium livestock. Some exceptions may include species native to costal Maine waters.

Thanks for posting this. Not a very extensive list... I figured it would be helpful to have readily available. Although many of us hobbyists don’t strictly adhere to the list because it’s completely unreasonable to understand why many of the common species have been excluded. |

So I’ve been hearing rumors from multiple respected sources that the unrestricted list is going to be getting a much needed update. Has anyone heard anything?

So I heard that the revisions to the unrestricted list have been postponed to next year. No idea on when next year though.
