I have finally set up another tank after tearing down my 180 a few years ago. I ended up ordering a tank from Glass Cages 60 x 24 x 25 with a coast to coast peninsula style overflow. The tank took almost four months to arrive and it was well worth the wait, the quality is very high. I ended up having them build the overflow box and used star fire glass on the front and on one side. I built and finished the stand and used barn style doors that can be removed.
I created the aqua scape using dry rock and reef safe mortar. While I was waiting for the tank I cycled some crushed coral, live sand, and a brightwell brick.
The skimmer was made by Life Reef, an old venturi style skimmer using a design that was popular over 20 years ago... it is well constructed and creates tons of bubbles.
I'm using Metal Halide / XHO Reefbrite lighting.
The sump is from Bashsea.
I only have one fish, a Bicolor Foxface and have two Tangs being delivered soon.
The tank is going to be an SPS tank... bare bottom with lots of flow created by two mp40's and a gyre XF280.
I am trying a different controller, giving Hydros a try. So far I like how it performs.
I've attached some pictures. I have a long way to go but I'm ready to try a couple corals to see how they do in this young tank.
It's nice to be back in the hobby.
