Hey everyone, been a while since I posted anything but I just wanted to let anyone who isn’t already aware, we have a brand new coral reef store in the Topsham fair mall. I haven’t made it down there yet but judging from mad hatters reef YouTube channel I’d say they have a pretty good selection of corals and dried goods. Reef stores here in Maine are few and far between and quite often short lived so if anyone can, go check them out and give them some support. youtube.com/c/MadHatterReefs

I stopped into Corals Unlimited in the topsham fair mall for the first time this afternoon, mostly to check it out and talk shop but I was definitely impressed with the quality of the livestock, and the selection of dried goods available especially for having only been open for a couple weeks. It can only get better with time and I can’t wait to be able to go in and see new saltwater fish and coral shipments. Maine, well central maine at very least has been sorely lacking a good local fish/reef store for a long time. I left with a great deal on some frozen mysis and a bag of macro algae. All in all the store has a great down to earth vibe and Jeff the owner seems like a great and humble guy, exactly what I would have expected judging from years of watching his YouTube channel Mad Hatters Reef. I would love to see everyone that can, stop in there and show him and his brand new shop some love and support in hopes that his business can grow and stay around to supply us central Maine fish and reef hobbyists. And while you’re at it go check out his YouTube channel as well.

Picked up some nice palys cant wait until fully stocked! No doubt, there’s nothing wrong with ordering stuff online but I’ve missed having a shop nearby that I can stop into on a whim when I get that spur of the moment urge to go look for something new. I’m definitely waiting to see what he gets in for saltwater fish. I know it’s an investment in inventory but I really hope he’s able to keep a few things like bulkheads, a selection of return pumps and titanium heaters in stock for when we need that emergency replacement and don’t have time to wait days for an order to arrive.

I’ve been watching the YouTube updates; hoping to make it there in the near future, seems like it will be a cool shop!
Referring to Topsham as central Maine is comical.

Yup Jeff doing a fine job ! He’s worked really hard to get the store where it is now and where’s it’s going to be in the near future. Corals Unlimited will be my new LFS and I only live a mile away!

Stopped in for my first time today. Grabbed a few supplies. Loved the place! Grabbed the ammonia test kit I needed. As long as my tests are good, will be going back tomorrow to start getting some clean up crew!
