well I turned my lights on early today and its a good thing I did! I started looking around and noticed something was wrong my clam wasnt open my corals were bleaching and my nem was the smallest I have ever seen. I started looking around and couldnt see anything the water was starting to get cloudy so I started doing tests. nitrate was a little high I expected it I had a sharknose goby go missing in the past couple days (he was old) I started mixing water went to deep sea to get some carbon and a filter pouch. when I got home things were looking worse I shut down everything and started on the process of a 70g water change. after the waterchange everything started looking better so I turned everything back on game back an hr later and it was getting worse clouding up bad
I reached in the tank and bam I new the problem 400w heater broke! now I am keeping my fingers crossed that I dont lose any more corals. my tyree red dragon and my orange monti caps took the hardest hit so far, I have one chalice bleaching and my frogspawn and blastos are totally closed

Hey man, if you need, I'm close enough I can house any corals for you temporarily if things get worse. Just let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

starting to look better now, clam is open and duncan is starting to open back up.
I am guessing I dropped a rock on the heater when I was messing with the new skimmer

You mentioned something about the temp being off to, makes sense now!!! Glad I got there early so you hit the lights on early to catch the issue!! Everything looked great regardless, even if it was po'd!!!

I lost the red dragon and the birdsnest is now pink and white my orange monti cap is pink, my frogspawn is a little pale and my nem is all skinny and shriveled but it looks like almost everything will be fine

At least the "pink" monti is pretty still, glad it didn't end badly. I forgot the algae lol, my daughter went home today and there was lots of cyna, I had her scoop it as I don't feel comfortable letting it grow and me not be there to supervise. I hate cyno. Sent from my Galaxy S3 using ProBoards

so the new skimmer has helped allot (even though this wouldnt have happened if I wasnt putting a skimmer on the tank) I have emptied the cup for the third time, since the mini crash. this is the nastiest crud I have ever seen and stinks like sulfur!! (yes it is black)
