hi all new to the forum. been in to tanks for about 15 years, and marine for the past 5 years. iv had a lot of losses and a lot of luck. my 46gal is doing very well and some day plan a large build of a 175gal with a 100 gal sump. so the reason for this post is i just bought a bta real cheap. i knew it wasnt doing well but thought the price was worth the risk. id like to nurse it back to health. looks like it will have some awesome colors. its mouth is gaping and is a bit bleached. the tenticals look good but when i feed it it just spits the food back out. any one got any ideas?

Gaping mouth is bad sign, but if you just got it just make sure your to keep up with water quality, and then get feed it lightly with small meaty foods. I'd use frozen mysis/brine shrimp, or finely chopped fresh fish and shrimp from the grocery store.

so today for the 2nd day i found it under the rocks. so i moved the rocks around to put it in the light. i did so because it wont eat and the light is its only sours of nourishment. at only 3 1/2 watts per gal. i know the light isnt too intense. good enough for soft corals and nems. iv noticed that its covering its mouth with its tentacles. so im guessing this is a good sing. still not taking chopped clams or any other frozen foods.

Don't move it unless its in danger, moving them will cause them to be stressed more. If its completely shaded for more than 4 days then consider moving. They're not smart, but know what they need.
