I’ve heard of people putting things like Molly’s in a saltwater tank. Has anyone done this? Are they reef safe?

Mollies will do fine in saltwater. They are actually brackish water fish naturally. I actually kept a Columbian cat shark in my reef up until recently when I lost it during the last big storm. Scats, monos, mollies, catsharks, and a few other brackish water species can easily be acclimated to full seawater.

I have read that Molly's devour hair algae of all types. I've never seen it though.

Ryan and syntax are right. I use to use/have black Molly's in my 110 to feed my lion fish and the ones he didn't eat cleaned the tank. So it was a win win lol
