Watching the news and they showed a story they are going to show tomorrow morning about the reefs and how they are dying off. The story is based on the ifea that there's a good possibility that it being caused by....SUNSCREEN! You know, that would kinda make sense. These reefs have lived for millions of years and in the last century have started to deteriorate. Climate change? I tend to wonder. Has there never before been changes in climate? Ice Ages? I tend to believe more in the idea that we as the guardians of our planet are destroying them by adding artificial chemicals into the oceans. I know you're saying that the size of the ocean would dissipate them, but think about it; millions of people go swimming in the ocean yearly and MOST slather themselves in SPF 50 2 or 3 time on a beach day. Just thought I'd let everyone know in case you're interested

Scientists have been investigating the sunscreen impact for many years. It has been best documented around highly congested areas with many swimmers, obviously. Hopefully this story can help bring about more awareness. Fortunately, there is a simple solution: wear UPF/SPF rash guards.

They said they are working on banning certain sunscreens containing Oxybenzone from the entire state of Hawaii. Maybe that's a start.
