I'm setting up a 50 gallon frag tank in my basement, the problem is that I'm worried my basement is too cold. Is my biggest worry just getting enough heaters or could this set up more issues?

You can make it work. Is it a stand alone tank or plumbed into another tank? If it's just for frags and you aren't worried about how it looks, cut styrofoam insulation sheets to attach to the outside of the tank. I did this on my sump. Underside, sides, front, and back. Use a cover over the tank if you can. If it won't work with lighting, perhaps just cover the tank at night.

Get a trough and wrap it in styro. No matter what you do the electric bill will go up significantly from a tank in an unheated area. I set an alltime record at $375 for May.
