Do you run a refugium? I put mine a reverse light schedule(the fuge is lit at night) and that reduced the swing. Now my PH is between 8.94 first thing in the AM and peaks at 9.04 in the evening.

yes I do, but the fresh air during the day is driving ph up. im assumimg you mean yours is between 7.9 and 8.2. 8.94 and 9.2 seems really high

No I gave the numbers accurately. It's via my apex which I have verified against a high range ph test kit in the past. I don't have CO2 issues in my house though so opening the windows doesn't affect me. If you can plumb the airline for your skimmer to fresh outside air that should stop it. What your seeing when you open the windows is what your system PH would likely normalize at if it wasn't being suppressed by excess CO2. I assume you have a family? pets? If your house is well insulated they may just being expelling so much CO2 that it's dragging your tank PH down. The only way to fix that as far as I know is to get fresh air into the house all the time(air exchanger) or directly to the skimmer.

running an airline out side with an air filter on it (soda or pill bottle with cotton in it) directly into your skimmer may help alleviate the swing.
