So the build I'm currently working on has ended up with a fairly narrow fuge section(cube sump) approx 19.5x6. I'm trying to figure out the best way to light it for chaeto.
Because of the long and narrow nature it seems like it would require two pendants for proper coverage. Two Pendants seem like it would have a lot of light spill.
Option1 two clamp lamps with CFL Option2 two clamp/hanging lamp with Par30/38 bulbs standard HD type or growlight(red/blue) Option3 Two Kessil H150 Option4 Finnex planted plus 20" low wattage but it's close to the surface mounting may compensate somewhat, not splash proof though Option5 Current Plus freshwater 18-24" Option6 Outdoor RAB style 70Watt HPS Option7 2 JBJ nano glo(not sure if it's enough light but would save a lot of space and heat.
I'm leaning away from the CFL solution from a heat standpoint as well as the HPS option for the same reason. I would like minimum heat and power consumption, but it needs to be strong enough to do the job.

CPR offers an LED for their hobs that are long and narrow. I recommend looking into one of those, they are on BRS. Also the innovative marine magnafuge reviews better and is cheaper than the jbj unit. I use it on several clients tank, 2 of them grow cheato like mad in the back of the 120 all in one.....roughly same width mines a bit longer and deeper so they should do the trick.

There are some led strip lights on the market that are long and narrow. Some are adhesive and bendable.
