Thinking about putting a gold severum in with my angels, Rams, keyhole cichlid, 3 glo tetras and a molly. Also thinking about putting a dwarf gourami in too. Anyone have any experience on that combination? I know it's been done, just want a little advice.

Also Blue acaras, heard they're pretty peaceful other than breeding

What size tank? And how big are your current stock? That's a lot of cichlids, and I think you will run into troubles down the road with that mixture.

It's a 55 gallon. And I may have 40 inches of fish in there and angels don't have much more to grow. It's mostly just catfish right now, I have two angels, two rams, a keyhole cichlid, and a few tetras other than that.

I'm with spotfin. That's pushing your your limits. Ignore the old inches of fish per gallon. It's not a useful metric. For instance a 10 inch Oscar generates far more waste and need a lot more room than 10 one inch tetras. You might consider upping your tetras school. You'd be amazed at how different they behave when there are 12 of them rather than 3.

I was just asking how they behave together. I know how much I can stock and I will be upgrading to a bigger tank once they grow. I also do 1-2 10-20% water changes a week so not worried about water quality just behavior. Also thinking about getting rid of the tetras want to do just cichlids.

Good maintenance schedule. As earlier, I still think you will have problems down the road with lots of cichlids. How big are they now, and how big is the severum you are thinking of adding?

My 2 angels are about 3-4 inches keyhole is maybe 2 maybe less. I'm not doing the Rams anymore, probably just bigger cichlids.

Also the severum may be 2-3 inches I forget how big it was
