Just curious what everyone around the state uses for salt and if you get it locally.

Just regular Instant Ocean, but I supplement with Kalkwasser. I usually just get it from Petco because of a family discount. Amazon usually has it cheaper.

I am thinking about switching to Fritz pro salt, i talked to a bunch of people in the CT area durring the frag farmers market and they said they have had amazing results since switching. I have found it for around $60 for a box online.

I've been using a 50/50 blend of IO and Reef Crystals. Usually from Amazon

I used instant ocean reef crystals but just made the switch to aquaforest. Mixes up great and parameters more stable.

Thanks for the input!
I have always used the Tropic Marin Pro Reef but will look into the reef crystals.
I have a half bucket of Tropic Marin Pro Reef from 6 years ago- do you think it would be ok to use? It was in an airtight container and looks good...

I use aqua-forest probiotic salt. I have been very happy with it. It has been by fair the best salt I have every used. I have 150 gallon mixed reef and it cause a bacteria bloom every time I do a water change and it leaves my water crystal clear. I also like the fact that it is cheaper then tropic marin's bio active salt

What caused the bacterial bloom? I read these new probiotic salt mixes have to be used soon after mixing with water.
