I'm trying to get rid of red bugs. I've asked our vet for a couple interceptor pills but he won't sell them to me. Does anyone have access to this stuff? Throw a pm my way if you do.

Interceptor is for heartworm prevention in dogs? You will probably have to find someone with dogs who uses Interceptor. I don't have any as I don't medicate our dogs for it in the winter.

Thanks. Yes, interceptor is a heart worm medication for small animals, but is also used to kill red bugs that plague acropora. I have dogs and our vet won't sell me pills even after I explained what I need them for.

They won't process the order without vet approval.

Yeah, you need vet approval. With our vet, they won't give me the Interceptor until the dogs have been tested for heartworm. If a dog has heart worms, and you give it the medicine, it can kill the dog. I don't think your vet will give you the med now that he knows what you want if for. Perhaps there is a "black market" for Interceptor.

Ask your vet if he'll 'treat' your acro. There must be must some risk involved for it to be so heavily regulated. I have potassium permanganate (obviously can't add to the tank) but I'm not sure if it will treat red bugs. Vijay
