I currently have a 125g tank with 40g sump on my main floor next to stairs. I have not reinforced my floor and have not noticed any issues. My concern is if I upgrade to a 180, whether I should reinforce the joists underneath the tank. The tank runs parallel to the joists, not ideal but it's the only placement option. My house was built in 2003 and uses 12" trusses instead of standard lumber.
Any engineers here that can give me an assessment? Who could I call to verify whether or not I need to reinforce the floor?

Mine is sitting perpendicular on rough cut 2"×12"s along a foundation wall and I still have a cross support with two jack posts in the basement. Over kill?? Yes! But in 10 years my floor won't be sagging.

just "tie" the 2x12's together with a few 2x4 so they cant twist..... could always add a lolly column if you dont trust it but 2x12 will hold some weight
