Poor tank. My 125 suffered unbelievable loss this spring/summer. My little one poured some cleaner in the tank and 99% of my sps and lps were killed. Before fully stabilized most of my shrooms died too. Most zoas lived and a few bounced and discoma shrooms made it. I tried everything. It was a snowball effect. So I let the tank run its course after huge water changes. Pulling out thousands of dollars worth of dead coral every week. Most likely 15k just in coral. No joke. It's either get out of the hobby, coast or come back. It's pretty tough to stay pationate about a hobby after loosing pretty much everything. I lost all interest for a few months and am trying to get it back.
I set up a 75 gallon and it's fully cycled. I'm probably taking down the 125 soon and rebuilding. It will be a good pest free re start. I'll probably be looking for cheap frags of what I once had. Let me know. I have zoas to trade.

Damn man, that sucks. I know the feeling though. I had a massive tank crash a few years back after loosing power for a couple days. You'll get there though. It just takes time.

Dam really sorry to hear this my friend. If it helps lessen the blow my tank went through a very similar situation and I lost all of my highend sps. Even my WD it has been a really really tough task just to stay slightly involved. I hope everything work's out and you get your passion for reefing back. I know that when we move in going to try and set up a few new tanks to get my juices flowing again. Sometimes new beginnings is just what the reef Dr ordered. Best of luck Dennis!

So sorry to hear Dennis. I lost almost everything in a crash this fall myself. Your frag tank was a completely separate system right? Hopefully you'll be able to rebuild from there.

Know exactly how you feel. Did a water change the other day using water from my new ro/di I got for Christmas. The clean water must have been a shock to the system because I lost almost everything. All spa. Most LPs, and even a family of colt corals. She's pissed and wants me to tear down and go fresh (this tank has been nothing but a headache). I've never had this much bad luck with reef since I started 22 years ago

OH NO... Thats good to know Sean. I was kind of wondering how that would be when I set up my new RO. I will be sure to do a little water change at a time? How much did you do?
I haven't done a water change in a while because I was waiting for the RO, so it desperately needs to be done. And with my luck, I will run into the same thing and lose a bunch of stuff (although I am pretty much running FOWLR) with a few pieces of coral that aren't doing much anyway.
