Anyone had experience with them in reef tanks?

I've always kept one in my tank. Keep my clam clean. No issues they do like to jump out of the tank though.

So I bought him on Monday. Very active. Took Alex at Pet Pro 25 minutes to catch, so he pretty healthy. I saw him for a few seconds during feeding yesterday, but not as of yet today. Hoping he's just adjusting to the tank

I've always heard they are very similar to melanurus wrasses. Reef safe with caution, may eat ornamental shrimp, crabs and snails, safe with corals.

He's pretty small still, maybe 1 1/2-2". I have some small black snails that come out in the hundreds. Maybe he'll help with those. Still haven't seen him today though

Day 3. Still haven't seen since Tuesday night (now Thursday). I don't believe it to be an aggression thing cause my 2 most aggressive, female clown and large banggai cardinal are to busy with a yellowtail that I got on Sunday. Where they are sand dwellers, my purple lobstah might have gotten him, but he (lobstah) was extremely eager to grab his shrimp pellets when I threw them in last night. Hopefully he's just found a good hidey hole or spot in the sand and biding his time. Not writing him off yet though. I've found fish living in overflows when they've been missing for months.

Just stepped in to take a break from mowing the lawn and found her happily darting around the tank and eating. Yay!

Yeah I've had 3 and they all hide for 2-5 days when you first get them. All 3 have eaten the tiny white snails. And the pyramid snails.

She's still on their schedule. She comes out at about 10:30,feeds, and goes back to hiding. Staying out today though!😁
