Just wanted to let everyone know how irritated I am after buying a pair of the JBJ stainless steel replacement algae scrapers. I normally use the type sold at petco but I buy the replacement blades from foster and smiths. Well this last time I added on two of the JBJ blades to my order when I bought my new bulbs. Long story short, the JBJ blades have literally ruined the front glass on my tank. Not only am I pissed about all the scratches on my glass, the blades are starting to rust as well. This is what I like and will continue using to scrape algae, they are awesome scrapers- www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+3728+12756&pcatid=12756Don't ever buy these junk replacement scraper blades- www.aquacave.com/AquaScraper-Stainless-Steel-Replacement-Blades-2-pcs-by-JBJ-P2116C532.aspxBy the way, this has nothing to do with Aquacave.com because they are truly a great company to buy from. Hopefully I can find a way to get some sort of compensation from this mishap. For now I'm left with looking through a ton of small and large scratched in my glass until I decide to drain it and rotate the tank. What a Pain!

Try going to the paint stores to look for scrapers. Pop the blade out of the scraper and keep it in vegetable oil between uses.

I've used plenty on different scrapers and didn't really care for any of them much. Especially since I need a long handle to use in the 220 gal tank I take care of.

Thanks for the heads up Ryan. Definitely post a review on the Aquacave website so other hobbyists are warned when they're viewing those scrapers.. too bad to think that if someone else had thought to do the same it could have possibly prevented you from purchasing it. That being said, JBJ seems like a pretty good name, so I can see why you'd go for it, and I'd be furious as well. A well worded and informed review will also (hopefully) help send a message to the manufacturer that customers will make their voice heard when they come across a crappy product.
On a similar note, I am practically holding my breath every time I use my Mag Float. It's almost pointless for me to even use it because I clean it off with a toothbrush before it goes in the water (every single time) and I rarely go near the sand haha. Kind of a pain in the ass for something that's meant to be convenient, but I hate running the risk of scratching my tank.
