It was simple... the longest part was taking the picture on my camera and uploading it... they were really good about issuing the credit... I usually buy my snails when they do buy one get one... and i usually make sure i have an order over $150 just for the free shipping... but this time i chose to go with just a few and see how they do.... I read somewhere its better to just do a few at a time.... So we will see! I saw a coral sale on some softies it was like $50 for five different frags of zoos... with free shipping.... I should have bought it when i saw it... now its gone... oh well!

I've always had good luck with Reefs2Go. Had to do a credit with them once and it was no problem, snapped a pic and a few days later I was credited for it.
Also, I was at the Bangor Petco a couple days ago and most of their saltwater tanks are gone now. All that's left is their "new" frag tank and the old frag tank which has just had a bunch of rocks and a few softies in it lately.

Seems like a better layout if that's the case.

I get my ATI bulbs from reef geeks, but I go through cultivated reef as Greg has a drop ship account with them, and can usually save me a few dollars per bulb

Augusta Petco has officially shut off half of their saltwater tanks and boy do the rest look dismal. The only thing there that I would have bought today was a sweet chalk bass. They also had some nice huge green carpet anemones and some OK corals.
Anyone been to any of the other Local fish stores here in the state lately? Tell us whats new and cool and what places aren't worth going to.

They've cut their number of salt tanks in half. Its not surprising really when you figure most of what they've been ordering is captive bred clowns, and most have have come in heavily deformed. One of the employees there actually told me the saltwater fish orders have been really under picked. Can't sell the same thing over and over again if the local market gets saturated. That's the nice thing about the Portland Petco. There always seems to be a great variety of different stuff. Sad but more stores need to realize that variety draws interest and generates sales. Same old same old doesn't sell, different sells. I'm Glad to see Dennis at Deep Sea slowly getting some more variety now and hopefully Easy Aquariums can keep a good variety of different and interesting livestock as well.

Was talking to Linda last week about losing half of their tanks. Sounds like it came from above. Not sure why they need more fresh water fish, they have most of the bases covered. I saw those chalk bass too-nice looking fish. They have a really nice lantern bass too that has been there for quite a while.

I dont see why they dont buy fish from sea&reef or locally grown corals? it seems like it is costing them big time! taking down tanks pushing customers away dosnt sound very productive to me

I pointed Soren in that direction and tried to talk to my District manager about it. But it all has to go through the corp office first, and probbably inspect his facilities, and has to be able to meet the demands in supplying dozens if not hundreds of stores. Petco is pushing to try and supply as many captive bred fish as possible, so as long as he can meet the minimum demands of the company and meet their price point, he has a good shot. But I wouldn't be expecting to see the really nice designers clowns, although Petco does have platinums, snowflakes, black ice , and onyx Picasso available to the magnet stores if they wanted to order them

Oh, yesterday I went down to the reptile show in Manchester which was great fun, i got a flower mantis, but my friend got dart frogs which now makes me want to keep them again lol. Then stopped at jays afterwords. I only go down every few months, and I like the changes he's made, things look a lot cleaner then it did last time I went down. The corals are no longer just in the back half, he's got alot of Corals spread through all the previously fish only tanks, and are now lit with led strips (not the strong ones but things still looked happy and the tanks looked sharp). He had a beautiful neon green haddoni carpet anemone, and some very nice looking purple tangs. I don't know why, but he also has several severely chewed up yellow tangs with bad HLLE(hope they were rescues). he has a large +12" naso tang. I picked a a couple very nice Sps frags for 20 each. I believe ones a green birdsnest (looks just like ORAs pic), and a bright purple smooth skin Acro.

Just figured Id put it out there. Stopped in to see Dennis at Deep Sea creations last week to trade in some fish. He has a been doing a lot of work improving the look of his tanks. I can't wait till he gets some more livestock in. He had some nice crocea clams as well.
